A never ending Trek!!!

You must have heard of Sinhagrah hill if you have been in or around pune. There is a fort from the times of Shivaji Maharaj. Though, now only certain parts of this dilapidated fort are remaining, but the weather is cool and the surroundings are quite scenic.Anyway, thats not what i am upto in this blog. I have been there several times either on bike or doing day trek or night trek. Now its no more a same attractive place as it was at the starting. I have been to Torna, Rajgarh, Ratangarh, harishchandragarh, lohgarh and kalsubai etc. This weekend (Aug 13), i was informed that we will be going to sinhgarh through a different route (from Katraj Ghat tunnel). Immediately after the tunnel, there was a police chowki from where we had to start climbing. I was not very excited. Thought : ok, something is better than nothing. At the start of the trek, i found that the trek duration is 5+ hrs. Hmmmmmm, quite a lot i thought. But the good thing was that we were going to return by the normal 1 hr route. We started and very soon after that we lost our way....We had read from the net that we have to follow the signal towers at the top of sinhgarh and follow towards it. But due to fog we could not make out the right direction......wasted 1-1.5 hrs but kept going....Later we got a very crude direction from a person standing on the top of hill with his cattle. His words "idhar jana hai...bahut door" (this wat but quite long)......kept going....already 2 hrs are gone. feeling a little tired also...no signs of even water....just pure vegitation. We saw a nearby hill at little higher altittude. We thought we might be able to see the sinhgarh hill from thar place. We did actually make out the correct Sinhgarh hill but from where we were standing, it looked at the horizon!!!......seemingly we had to cross 4-5 hills and then reach our destiny. But the good thing was that we now had a clear direction no matter how far it seemed. We had our tiny meal on the way and again started going towards our hill. Crossed first, then second and then third....Then we were able to make out a tar road a little far which utlimately led us to the Sinhgarh hill. Success!...Mission accomplished!! On the top we satisfied our thurst with NimbuPani and Tak (yummy)But all in all, it was a trek with altogather different experience. Probably the only trek i felt totally away from any habitation, without proper direction, on our own.
